Today

Guess what! Today at school we got awards! I got all A honor roll!!! YAY! I got the S.O.A.R. (Safty first On Task Act responsibly and Respect) I voted by my classmates!!! SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY ONE PERSON GOT IT AND THAT WAS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!! And I got on mathletics! It is where 3 people from each class of 4th 5th and 6th graders work together. You do really difficult math problems and there are 3 other schools besides my school, Trailwood. To even get on the team you have to take a difficult test and I. GOT. ON. And this is about what happened when I found out.

My Brand New Ball

 Yesterday we went shopping at 5 below. While I was browsing one of the aisles, and it's vast collection of items, my eyes fell upon a small rectangular cardboard box. I then stood on the tops of my toes and saw it. It was a basket of balls. Mostly yellow ones. There was also one black and pink one. But I scarcely saw them. I only had eyes for one ball. This ball was perfect! It was half blue, but the blueish greenish sort of way. The other half was a bright springy yellow. The ball smelled amazing! It smelled of a spring breeze blowing past the top of a mountain. But that was far from the best part! The ball was soft as silk and seemed to nestle in my palms. Then I dropped it. It fell down on the ground making an oddly satisfying sound. Then it bounced up right into my hands! At that moment I knew that I was going to get that ball.   All about Megan G. Kerr By: Liv Liv: What's your favorite color? Megan: Purple. Liv: Why did you start teaching gifted? Megan: I enjoyed doing the activities when I was in the gifted program myself elementary school. I also liked coming up with enrichment ideas for my students when I taught second grade.  And I had a lot of fun substituting teaching in gifted classrooms.  So when Mrs. Leftwich asked me if I wanted to teach gifted kids with her, I was excited at the possibility.  It seemed like my dream job.  I had to take college courses anyway to renew my teaching license.  So I decided to interview for the gifted job and commit to taking college classes in gifted education to get certified.  And the rest is history.
